Mt Archer Early Learning has completed level 3 of three of the small green steps programme.
Standard 3.3 of the National Quality Standard requires services to take an active role in caring for its environment and contribute to a sustainable future. For a service to be meeting the National Quality Standard element 3.3.1 requires that sustainable practices are embedded in service operations.
The Small Green Steps project has provided a way for sustainability to be integrated into our service, inspiring and empowering children, parents and educators and staff to initiate and achieve tangible sustainability.
As an education and care community, we strive to encourage and increase awareness of environmental responsibilities and implement practices that contribute to a sustainable future. We aim to support children to become environmentally responsible and show respect for the environment. In order to successfully embed environmentally sustainable practices into the operations of our service, educators, children and families together, must unite.
Todays young children represent the first of those future generations and this makes it important for us, as educators, to help them realise the significance of caring for and protecting their environment.
We are committed to protecting our environment to ensure a sustainable future for our children and through continuous improvement we strive to be better tomorrow than we are today.
